Katja Aga Sachse Thom, artist, designer and architect
With Toronto, Canada, as her home base Katja Aga Sachse Thom today works both as a designer, an artist and an architect. Her works range from design of exhibit concepts, decorating churches and companies, and designing furniture fabrics to establishing a sculpture garden by Balsam Lake in Ontario.
- Born in Aalborg 1969
- A graduate of Southern California Institute of Architecture in 2000.
- As an artist Katja Aga Sachse Thom has chosen to focus on sculpture and design and has studied a University of New Mexico, Institute of American Indian Arts and Alberta College of Art.
- Since 1988 designed furniture fabrics for Danish Art Weaving.
- When in 1989 Danish Art Weaving and the well-known Danish architect Verner Panton started a teamwork of design and production of fabrics for DSB (Danish Railways), Katja Aga Sachse Thom was the one to supervise the test weavings. “Panton” was introduced by Danish Art Weaving in 2003.
- Katja Aga Sachse Thom has designed fabrics for e.g. the Opera House in Toronto, Canada, and Shakespeare Theater in Washington D.C., USA.
