Care and maintenance

Natural qualities of wool
When choosing fabric for your couch you should consider not only looks but also durability. The wool has already way back in time proven its good qualities in regard of comfort and well being. Wool absorbs moisture i.e. it gives the best comfort of sitting, because when you are warm it will absorb the moisture and the other way around, when it is cold it provides extra warmth.

Resistant to dirt and fire
By nature wool is endowed with resistance to dirt and fire. It is antistatic, i.e. it is not as susceptible to dirt as other types of fabrics. Wool is slow absorbing. If you spill something on it you can save the situation by a quick reaction as the fluid does not easily penetrate the fabric. Also when it comes to fire wool has good natural properties. If you drop a spark from a cigarette the wool does not burst into flames but simply goes out and all you have to do is brush it.

Focus on the environment
Through the entire process of production Danish Art Weaving keeps its focus on the environment. We make a point of using methods that are as gentle to the environment as possible, e.g. there are no heavy metals in our dyes.

Cleaning
To keep the lovely color and looks of your wool fabric we advice you vacuum your furniture on a regular basis e.g. once a week. According to use and color a more thorough cleaning may be necessary once or twice a year. Be sure to use approved products (shampoo) that does not leave sticky residue.
